Nalla Neram Today - Gowri Panchangam

Nalla Neram means “auspicious time.” It refers to a period that is considered favorable for beginning important activities so that they bring positive results. Just as Choghadiya is widely followed in North India, Nalla Neram is commonly observed in the southern parts of the country. It is based on the Gowri Panchangam system and is derived from the Pambu Panchangam published in Tamil Nadu. In this system, both the day and the night are divided into eight equal segments.
